The History of Second Childhood Creations

Second Childhood Creations opened as a brick and mortar store in 2004 as a venue for me to share my love of stamping, papercrafting and scrapbooking with others. Along the road there have been been interesting twists and turns.

In 2006, my husband and I left the big city in an attempt to "simplify" our lives. The journey has been filled with daily lessons about simplifying, learning to live with less and enjoying life more. (I am resigned that this is going to be an ongoing lesson!)

As we moved and our lives changed so did the need for Second Childhood to change as well. But to what? That was the question. A brick and mortar store in the middle of nowhere? Not much of a chance for survival.

In 2007 this online store was added. It is fun but I find myself spending more and more time doing administrative tasks and less on those things that I love doing--creating and inspiring. Plus I miss teaching classes and the "ah ha" moments you get when you inspire someone else.

In 2008 I decided to add a blog to the repetoire so that I would be "forced" to create regularly. A huge improvement, yet still not completely right. I began teaching classes again. Another improvement, yet still not completely there.

And now its 2009! My goal is to begin living the reason I left the big city--TO SIMPLIFY and to get back to what truly is important to me--SHARING MY PASSION and INSPIRING OTHERS.

What you will find at Second Childhood Creations are tools and products selected for you exactly for that reason. They either will simplify your creative process or hopefully inspire you (and maybe even challenge you to use what you already own!)

I do not try to carry "everything." It is too much of a burden. I am very selective about the products I carry. You will know that if its in the store, I use it, love it and highly recommend it.
